It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 6th International Symposium-cum-Training Course on Molecular Medicine and Drug Research, to be held in Karachi, Pakistan, during November 6 - 9, 2017.Over 100 eminent scientists and researchers from 30 countries have been invited to participate in this important international event in the field of molecular medicine. Some 500 scholars from Pakistan will also participate in this international moot. Pakistan is a fascinating country, full of vitality, cultural diversity, rich natural beauty, and culinary delights. We hope the dynamic and magical spirit of Karachi, one of the mega cities of the world, will be conducive to provide milieus, stimulating exchange of scientific knowledge between scientists in the field of molecular medicine and drug discovery innovation. It is also hoped that this meeting will foster stronger research ties between the participating scientists representing different regions.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I wish you all a very warm welcome to Karachi in November, 2017.

Patron-in-Chief, ICCBS

The symposium will be held at the beautiful campus of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, University of Karachi. The ICCBS campus is located at about 20 minutes’ drive from the Jinnah International Airport (Karachi), and about 30 minutes’ driving distance from the largest shopping areas in the center of the city. Banks, post office, stores, restaurants, and travel agencies are also located within short distance of the symposium venue. Evening shuttles will run during the symposium for the participants staying on-campus to take them to various shopping centers and other attractions in the city.

Molecular medicine is an emerging field that deals with the advances in molecular and cellular biology to characterize how a normal cellular process fails or succeeds in subverting a disease. New knowledge in the field of molecular pharmacology, genomics, immunology, and cell biology is expanding the scope of the innumerable inconceivable possibilities in search for development of new drugs and mechanism-based therapies.

In recent years, there has been enormous growth in the understanding of biological processes at the molecular level. The development is continuous with sharp focus on the essential molecular mechanisms underlying the normal functioning of the cells, tissues, and organisms. Molecular biological methods can be used to discover the mechanism of pathological processes, leading to the development of new therapeutic concepts based on the understanding of molecular medicine.

The following aspects of molecular medicine and drug discovery science will be covered in this symposium:
• Molecular Immunology
• Molecular Oncology
• Neurochemistry
• Gene Therapy
• Genomics and Proteomics
• Stem Cell Therapy and Tissue Engineering
• Infectious Diseases
• Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders
• Allergies and Asthma
• Molecular Pharmacology and Drug Resistance
• Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
• Structural Biology
• Translational Biomedical Research
• Clinical Trials, and Bioequivalence Studies

The registration fee includes entry to scientific lectures, poster sessions, exhibition, full set of abstracts, a copy of the symposium program, daily refreshments, symposium banquet, cultural evening, and free transportation from airport to the venue of the symposium.
Accompanying persons can attend the symposium banquet, and cultural evening, but they may not attend the technical sessions.
On site registration is also possible, but accommodation and entry to social events will not be guaranteed.
In case of cancellation before October 15, 2017, the fees will be refunded after a deduction of US$ 100. No refund on cancellation will be made after this date.
