Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD) Library
The mission of the PCMD library is to provide access to information, essential for education and research in the fields of Molecular Medicine, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Diagnostic Sciences, Computational Medicinal Chemistry and allied disciplines.
Soon after the establishment of the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences the library commenced its function by providing services to the scientists and students. At present the library is in the stage of rapid growth.
The library comprises of the books and information sources in the field of biomedical science. Its collection has a wide range of books and journals on the subject of Molecular Biology, Molecular Medicine, Drug Research, Clinical Research, Gene Technology, Toxicology and Immunology. The library is currently subscribing/receiving 126 most important journals in these fields which will be increased as need arise.
The multimedia room of the library is also equipped with net-connected computers for the of library users. The terminals provide access to the electronic journals and databases on the inter-net to assist research related literature survey. The library is also linked with the digital library of the ICCBS which have access 31,000 journals.
The library staff provides reference assistance and training to the students, and helps them to locate and use on-line and printed resources. We also offering consultation services to different libraries of Pakistan in creation and strengthening of their collections.
