Dr. Zarrin Basharat did her graduation in Bioinformatics from International Islamic University, Islamabad and PhD in Environmental Sciences (major in Biotechnology) from Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. She spent six months at Michael Smith Labs, University of British Columbia, Canada to complete a part of her research work. Her post-doctoral training was on ‘Genome wide association studies of AIDS’ from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Paris, France. She has experience in working with environmental/clinical isolates of bacteria, using instruments like UV-Vis spectrophotometer, Illumina/Nanopore sequencer, GC-MS, and LC-MS/MS. Her in silico expertise include whole genome assembly, annotation, RNA-Seq data analysis, metagenomics, genome wide association, transcriptome wide association, imputation, drug target mining and docking simulation. She has more than 30 good impact publications to her credit  Impact factor = ~80). She has also authored several chapters in ISI indexed books. She serves on the Editorial board of Malaysian Biosciences journal ‘Biogenesis’ and is reviewer for several journals. Her current research endeavors include sequencing microbes, data analysis and human disease genomics.’
