Dr. Uzma Salar earned her Ph.D. in Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry in 2016 from the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry. Her work focused on synthesizing a diverse range of functionalized coumarin and chromone analogs through single- to multi-step synthetic transformations and evaluating these compounds for various biological activities. Her Ph.D. research has resulted in over seventeen publications in internationally reputed journals. During her Ph.D., she also worked as Research Attache at Atta-ur-Rahman Institute for Natural Products Discovery, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. She received her post-doctoral training at the Institute of Chemistry and Biology of Membranes and Nano-Objects (IECB, CBMN), France, specializing in solid-state NMR. Since 2018, she has also been working in the field of Structural Biology, continually exploring new drug targets to treat infectious diseases. She has extensive experience in gene cloning, protein expression, and purification of enzymatic proteins. She has also used STD NMR spectroscopy to identify hits against novel and potential drug targets. To date, she has published over 140 research papers in internationally reputed journals, with a total impact factor of 450, h index 36, and over 3643 citations (as per Google Scholar). Her current research interests include Structural Biology, NMR Spectroscopy including STDNMR, Biomolecular Chemistry, and Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry.
